CASE STUDY - THE WIN CLINIC

As an experienced human and veterinary physiotherapist, Nicky has built a busy and popular practice at The Win Clinic. When we first met with her, she was looking for support to grow and develop her business further, but in a way which would allow her to focus on the job she loves, rather than requiring her to spend more time on business development. She also wanted to gain a better understanding of her business finances so that she felt more confident in investing in the business for the future.

“I have an excellent reputation and an amazing team, but I was not good at being profitable. I didn’t fully understand business and didn’t really want to learn; I knew I needed to optimise my profits but wanted to focus on my physiotherapy work and not spend more time running the business.”

We started by looking at the business finances, gaining an understanding of the income and cost structure of the business and where it is most profitable. We also developed a cashflow forecast to provide a clearer financial basis for future planning and to allow us to easily model the expected impact of different investment decisions on the business.

We then held a relaxed and informal strategy session with the whole Win Clinic team to get a real feel for what is important to them, why they love the Win Clinic, and how they see the business developing for the future. This generated lots of great ideas which we developed into clear strategic options and recommendations for the future, along with cashflow projections showing the potential impact of some of these options.

Following the strategy session, we have helped Nicky to map out a plan for the year ahead, harnessing the skills of her team and focussing on specific projects consistent with their aspirations for the future. We are now working closely with Nicky and her team to implement her chosen strategies, providing support and advice where needed, keeping the projects on track, and acting as a sounding board for ideas or worries.
